You've got my endless admiration, not just for the goal and your unbeatable positive attitude, but also for the capacity of been so open and transparent. You're an inspiration, Vaughan, there's nothing that you cannot achieve!

Vaughan, forget the training, by the time you're home you'll be fit...

but seriously I did a similar thing in the UK on a tandem with my first wife [for charity {the ride was for charity, not the first wife}]

Until we started we'd only ridden 35km, and I allowed 7 days for the worcester to land's end trip. we did it in two and a half days doing 200 miles a day instead of the 70 miles I thought we'd manage.

Saddle soreness was the biggest issue. You're not racing it [but probably yourself] so fitness isn't really the issue, it just makes it easier. So by the time you get home you will be fit.

See http://humanclock.com for inside tips and insight. he rode around australia, new zealand and then back to US

Juha is right, you'll hate the first week

I read somewhere that the first week of biking is the hardest, but after the second one, you'll be fit and unstoppable. One thing to watch out for is sunburn and to make sure you have a comfortable saddle and proper cycling shorts. You can imagine why I say that.

And, the sound of moobies flapping during starjumps is a mental audio-visual image I could've done without :)
